We answer your most frequently asked questions about this ground breaking sebum balancing formula…
As it is designed to help balance excessive production of sebum, will it dry my skin out?
No, the formula helps to balance the production of sebum by providing deep hydration to the skin.
What is Epilobium?
The star ingredient of this serum is Epilobium extract, a plant rich in an antioxidant called Oenothein B which inhibits the activity of 5 Alfa-Reductase, the enzyme responsible for sebum production. It also contains a high amount of flavonoids which are very soothing for skin.
My skin is oily, will this serum make it worse?
Absolutely not, the serum is completely oil-free, and has been created to provide the epidermis with optimal moisture levels. Why? Because combination and oily skin types are, in fact, actually suffering from surface dehydration, and this serum provides a much-needed, perfectly targeted dose of balancing hydration.
Can I combine it with other serums?
Yes, it is a very versatile product. In summer or when my skin wants a lighter texture, I like pairing it with the Ideal Brightening Corrective Serum.
How many times a day can I use it?
I suggest you use it twice a day as studies on the ingredients have been based on a twice a day application. If you want to include other serums in your routine and you prefer to use it only once a day, then apply it in the evening, then it can get to work overnight.
How does it compare to the Ideal Moisture Level Serum?
Both are hyaluronic acid based serums with the same dosage of Saccharide Isomerate, which works as a water magnet for skin. However, the Ideal Moisture Level Serum has more plant based sugars with water retaining and film forming abilities. The Ideal Rebalancing Level Serum on the other hand, is still very hydrating but it focuses more on the excessive production of sebum.
Is it only suitable for young skin?
No, not at all. Sebum production is also related to hormone activity, so I have many customers in their late 50s and even early 60s, who use it and love it.
Can I use it as a make-up primer?
Yes, it leaves skin make-up ready with no heavy or sticky residue.
My husband keeps stealing it from me! Can I tell him it’s not suitable for men?
Unfortunately not! Your husband probably loves it because men have more androgens (male hormones) which stimulate sebum production so they often see an improvement very quickly when using it. Plus men always comment how easily it absorbs. But a little does go a long way, so perhaps encourage him to use less!
