Following the launch of yet another fantastic product this month (we’re on a roll!), we’ve put together a Q&A section containing your most frequently asked questions on the latest member of the Twelve Beauty family, Charcoal Peace Calming Cleanser …
- Can it be used twice a day?
Yes, it can be used morning and night. In fact, its innovative formula leaves skin feeling thoroughly cleansed without over-drying. That being said, as time is short for most of us in the mornings, we tend to recommend Purifying Cleansing Beauty Cream more for your AM cleanse.
- Does it remove makeup and waterproof mascara?
Yes, and it does so very well. We recommend massaging a small amount on to dry skin, including the eye area, then activating with lukewarm water and gently emulsifying to remove all traces of makeup.
- What skin type is it recommended for?
It’s suitable for all skin types but in particular those looking for a deeper daily detox, such as people with combination/oily or congested skin.
- Is it suitable for use during pregnancy?
Based on all the recent studies available, it does not contain any ingredients considered to be unsafe for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The formula is free from essential oils and fragrance.
- Can it help with acne?
Its exclusive blend of plant-based activated charcoal and purifying kaolin clay makes it a great choice for cleansing acne-prone skin. The combination of these two ingredients calms and detoxes skin, while gently removing impurities and excess oil. What’s more, it also contains sunflower oil, known for its high linoleic acid content which helps improve sebum quality in acne-prone skin.
- As it contains clay, will it dry out my skin?
In addition to boasting purifying qualities, kaolin clay also moisturises and soothes skin at the same time. The formula also contains other highly hydrating and restorative ingredients such as sunflower oil and orange distilled water, which leave skin renewed and calm.
- Can it be used as part of double cleanse?
As a triple-phase cleanser it’s designed to provide skin with a gentle yet deep cleanse, which means it works great as a stand-alone product. If you’re a fan of double cleansing, however, we recommend using it as the second step.
- Can it be removed with just water or does it need a muslin cloth / hand mitt?
Charcoal Peace Calming Cleanser contains emulsifiers, which are easily be removed by rinsing with lukewarm water. However, as the product contains activated charcoal, we have developed a new black, super soft organic cotton mitt, designed to gently remove all traces of both makeup and cleanser residue. This way, you won’t stain your favourite towels.
- I’ve tried it and its texture is amazing, why is that?
Its innovative formula has been designed to transform from a gel-to-oil-to-milk when it comes into contact with water, elevating the act of cleansing to an exquisite sensorial ritual. It’s a sublime treat for your skin.
- How can I combine it with my other Twelve cleansers?
Use as a second step after Clementine Cleansing Balm or opt to use Purifying Cleansing Beauty Cream in your AM routine and Charcoal Peace Calming Cleanser in the evenings.
