When you marry botanical extracts and technology you are in for a rewarding skincare treat, this combination undeniably feeds the skin with functional ingredients that are both, effective and safe. Right now, some innovative raw material companies are shaking up the industry by launching new ingredients, which are the epitome of soft power, gentle to the skin yet highly performing.
Earlier last year, I came across to a new mallow concentrate which caught my eye for numerous reasons, scientific studies, purity, amount of active compounds, amongst other grounds. I have not been that excited for a long time so I started to study ways to incorporate it into the range. I believed the best fit was the Ultra Revitalising Elixir. It worked in synergy with the rest of ingredients by elevating the already soothing ability and its moisture-binding properties.
I could not be more pleased with the final result, but which changes have I made and how they will step up your beauty regime?
Firstly, I substituted the entire amount of purified water for the mallow flower extract which means higher dose of polysaccharides (sugars) that will guarantee continuous hydration and give extra relief to irritated/prone to redness skin.
I also add the highest grade of purity niacinamide, which has the lowest concentration of nicotinic acid in the market so it minimises the unpleasant burning sensation when you use high doses of niacinamide. With this addition expect a visible elasticity boost, it also rebalances uneven skin tone, offers antioxidant protection, and makes the skin barrier stronger. It works really well when combined with another ingredient, saccharide hydrolisate, which is a luxurious extract I already use, naturally derived from schizandra berries.
The final modification has been a further extra amount of sodium pca, which is a key element of the Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF).
I believe that healthy skin is a combination of the right grade of moisture, elasticity and pH.
